Installing Bioclipse2

Some simple guidelines for installing Bioclipse2.

Prerequisites

You need Java 1.5 installed. Java 1.6 _MIGHT_ work but is not recommended. See the FAQ for more instructions and troubleshooting java versions. This will be remedied as soon as we can ship JRE with Bioclipse.

Download and unpack

1. Download the latest Bioclipse version from Sourceforge.

2. Unzip the downloaded .zip file into a location on your harddisk.

3. In the unzipped folder, run Bioclipse. See the FAQ for troubleshooting and ask on the mailing-list bioclipse-devel if your problem is not covered so we can update the FAQ.

4. On first startup, Bioclipse displays some introductory options and a getting started guide.
